Q. When will my students get the most out of this outreach program? A. Schedule a Woodland Indian outreach program in the middle or end (or as a review) of your Native American history lesson plans. It is recommended that this program is not utilized as an introduction to Woodland Indian culture as students need to be able to answer general questions to participate such as the kind of homes or names of the houses they lived in, or the tribes that lived in their region or state.
Q. Do we need to provide anything? A. Yes. I only need 3 eight foot long tables and sufficient area to give a program to your students. Remember that this is an interactive program, and as many as 20 students may be called up to the front to participate at a time, so space is necessary. I also recommend students are seated on the floor, and not on chairs. I am rather short, and keeping the children on the floor allows students to see everything I do and show them. Amphitheaters are OK.
Q. How do I reserve? A. Just e-mail us at schools@woodlandindianedu.com (or call us at 812.388.6996) and specify a time of month or a week or even a specific date. We can see what is available, and work around what is not. A confirmation will be sent to you by e-mail (or post mail if requested). There is no booking fee, and payment is not due until day of program.
Q. How do we take care of the payment? A. Payment is due the day of the program (unless other arrangements are made, such as in the case of grants). Checks should be made out to Woodland Indian Educational Programs.
Q. Can I get an invoice or receipt of payment? A. Yes. To receive a receipt on the day of the program, please request it in advance with reservations. Invoices can be sent for your documentation anytime before or after the program.
